Book Blogger Hop December 17-20

Welcome Book Blog Hoppers!  This weekly event is sponsored by Jennifer at Crazy for Books.  Hop on over and read about the Blog Hop, then sign up on the linky.

This week's question is:  What do you consider to be most important in a story:  the plot or the characters?

Characters are more important to me.  I prefer character-driven fiction to plot-driven fiction--although a good novel will have an interesting plot as well.  Engaging, well-written characters are what attract me most.  What do you think--plot, or character?

plot... it's all in the plot babe... no matter how great the characters... tis all for naught if the plot doth not "stick" to the gut...

Hey there!
I came from the hop, but just found out I'm already a follower! Funny how I forget the name of the blogs, cause they're on my RSS feed XD

Anyways, I think both have to be good, I can't stand dull characters, but a completelly character driven plot is irritating...

You need both. If the characters are delightful but not going anywhere I don't want to keep reading. If the plot is great and I haven't bonded with the characters I will put the book aside.
