This week was a very busy one for Bibliophiliac. There are times when school just takes over my life entirely, and this seems to be one of them. I've fallen way behind in reading and commenting on blogs, and I really miss checking in with my favorite blogs on a day to day basis. My Creative Writing students did some beautiful work this week--we did cross-outs and cut-ups and visual journaling. I forced myself to ravage a really ancient, outdated textbook that had a tattered back cover (even so, it was hard making that first rip). The students did cross-out poems and collages on the book pages, and some of them were really amazing.
I've started reading Hummingbirds by Joshua Gaylord for the TLC Book Tours--I will be posting my review on October 26th. And I've been reading around in some short story collections, as well as some writing books--more on that in a future post.
I have two winners for the Dracula in Love giveaway: PK Reeves from Aisle B and Martha Lawson. I'll be e-mailing these two lucky winners for their addresses, then Doubleday will be mailing their books!
Oh, how do you like my new fall look? I just got really bored with the old look!

I love the leaves! Very pretty :) Fall is by far the best season.
Awful how we sometimes forget how long it is since we visited our blogger buddies so I thought I'd stop by and say a big hello.
I love the leaves too! And the sofa. WANT.

Oops... I posted on the wrong post...
not sure how that happened. Sorry..
I do like the fall leaves.
I put up a new header for a scary Halloween theme. After Halloween I will have a more mild fallish one up.
I love the leaves, but I didn't know what it looked like before (new visitor and follower). Sometimes you just need a change. I also love your typewriter! I want it.
I really have no idea how you were able to do that to that book, but I bet the end result was beautiful. They usually are. I always find it to be bittersweet when it comes to using old books for art or creative projects, but sometimes the end result can be worth it.
You visited my blog during the hop and I couldn't pay you one in return till now so here I am with a belated visit, hope you don't mind!
@Brenna-thanks!
@Petty-I was just thinking the same thing--work is so busy I hardly have time for those social calls!
@Lyndsey-thanks! Hope that London weather is improving!
@Shellie-thanks for stopping by!
