Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Wouldn't Mind Santa Bringing Me

On Tuesday we have lists!
Top Ten Tuesday is an awesome bookish meme, brought to you by The Broke and the Bookish.
This week's Top Ten Tuesday is a list of books we wouldn't mind Santa bringing.... If Santa can squeeze past the towering TBR stacks, this is what I've been wishing for:
I'm a big Elizabeth Strout fan, and I really want to read The Burgess Boys. I'd also love to get The Best American Short Stories 2013, which Strout edited.

Everything Sherman Alexie writes is golden. I'd love to get his most recent collection of stories, Blasphemy.

Not many people know that I attended art school after high school, and for years I had a studio and showed my work on a regular basis. Now that I'm a high school English teacher, I don't have the time or money to maintain a studio. But I still love to draw, and in 2014 I'd like to spend more time drawing. Contemporary Drawing: Key Concepts and Techniques by Margaret Davidson and The Drawing Projects: An Exploration of the Language of Drawing by Mack Masten and Jack Southern would give me needed inspiration.

I love short stories, and I've heard nothing but good things about Karen Russell's St. Lucy's Home for Girls Raised by Wolves.

Based on the wonderful things I've heard about Dani Shapiro's book, I really want to get Still Writing: The Pleasures and Perils of a Creative Life.

Any book that combines beautiful images with an arresting story is on my radar, and I would love to hold this one in my hands. Darkroom: A Memoir in Black and White is Lila Quintero Weaver's personal story, and I'm longing to read it.

Everyone tells me that Rainbow Rowell's books are amazing, and I'd like to start with her novel, Eleanor and Park.

I love the work of Andre Dubus III, and his new collection of stories Dirty Love would be an awesome stocking stuffer!

What books would you like to get from Santa?

Great choices! I loved Eleanor and Park (and it's not my usual "type" of book). I also really want to read St. Lucy's.

St. Lucy's sounds phenomenal. That might be my next book purchase.

@Lisa-Santa must not have gotten my note, but I did make a little trip to the bookstore after Christmas. I picked up St. Lucy's Home for Girls Raised by Wolves and Rainbow Rowell's Attachments.
