It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at One Person's Journey Through Books. Sheila impresses me through her irrepressible spirit and her seemingly boundless energy. Since I have a day off from school today,I thought I'd participate in this meme for the first time.

Here's what I was reading this week:
The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoevsky. I'm participating in a read-along with Allie at A Literary Odyssey, and this week I finished Part Two of this 615 page novel.
Tangled Webs: How False Statements Are Undermining America: From Martha Stewart to Bernie Madoff by James B. Stewart, for TLC Book Tours (review on June 1st).
Teacher at Point Blank: Confronting Sexuality, Violence, and Secrets in a Suburban School by former high school English teacher Jo Scott-Coe.
Antigone by Sophocles (teaching this)
Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Albom (reading this aloud to some sophomores)
Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens is still on my nightstand, and I'm eager to get back to it.

To tell you the truth, I don't even want to think about what I'm reading next. That is another long list! My head is full of books.

We only have nine days left in this school year. I'm weirdly in denial about this. I'm ready, but not ready, for this school year to end.

It's Monday, what are you reading?

Your first time? Nice you've joined in. I've been doing this for ... close to a year, it must be. Wow!

Your list is long, and the book look a bit endless. I've been having a good time, I've got some easy books lined up and that's nice too.

Counting down the school days with you! And engaging in a little escapist fare - Ender's Game. Recommended by a friend whose opinion I value.

It's Tuesday and I'm STILL reading. I've been reading out of my bookcase and decided to pick up Mary Renault's The Mask of Apollo as lighter fare from what I finished on Monday: Cynthia Ozick's The Shawl. You can tell the vintage of some unread items on my shelf!
I'm leaving on vacation tomorrow with my Kindle, and I don't know classic that I downloaded for free will be first up.
