My Winter "To Be Read" List
Bookish folks don't even have to spell it out: we all know what "TBR" means. Those are the books we mean to read, want to read, intend to read, really are going to read....soon. It may be a list in a notebook, or a mental list we carry with us all the time. For some it might literally be a stack of books in a specific place, and for others, it is an entire....bookcase. This week's Top Ten Tuesday is a list of our winter "TBR" books. As always, Top Ten Tuesday is brought to you by The Broke and the Bookish. If you'd like to play, just create your own Top Ten Tuesday list, then head over to The Broke and the Bookish to add your link.1. Another Country, James Baldwin.
2. Invisible Man, Ralph Ellison.
3. TransAtlantic, Colum McCann.
4. Odd Thomas, Dean Koontz.
5. Jayber Crow, Wendell Berry.
6. Cutting for Stone, Abraham Verghese.
7. A Dance with Dragons, George R.R. Martin.
8. Vampires in the Lemon Grove, Karen Russell.
9. When Women Were Birds, Terry Tempest Williams.
10. Perdido Street Station, China Mieville.
That's my list.... some classics from my Classics Club list, the last book in the Song of Ice and Fire series (Winter is coming), and a couple of wild card books (Dean Koontz and China Mieville). What's on your winter TBR list?

I am jealous that you still have Dragons to read. I am all caught up and desperate for more. I am even considering starting the series again from the beginning! Have an great winter! ~Megan

I am one of those people who couldn't get enough of Cutting for Stone. Absolutely loved it. And I wasn't sure I would, not at all--such a wonderful surprise!

@rockyriverteenlibrarian-I am so psyched for A Dance With Dragons! But then, that empty feeling when I know there won't be another book until who knows when! I will have to pry the other books out of the hands of the teenagers I loaned them to!
@Judith-I have heard so many good things about Cutting for Stone. I started reading it on my Nook, but it was slow going. Not that I didn't love the book, but I didn't love reading it on the Nook. So I went out and got the paperback, so we'll see how that goes....
My suggestion for reading Cutting for Stone:
I agree, the beginning was just a bit difficult for me. But keep pushing beyond. It rewards. Bigtime!

Oh I didn't get a chance to play in this week's TTT. Great choices. I read Cutting For Stone a couple of years ago - great book.
Hope you enjoy working your way through your TBR stack!
I need to put together a list like this. I have so many books I want to get to and if I don't get a plan in place, I'll completely forget what it was I was looking for!
