Welcome to book bloggers visiting on the hop. Thanks to Jennifer at Crazy-for-Books, weekends have become blog-hoppy.
This week's question is about favorite authors. That's a really tough question for a Bibliophiliac. One writer who comes to mind is the Canadian writer Alice Munro. Munro's short fiction is subtle, artful, and brilliant. Her stories contain entire worlds. Another master of the short story is Andre Dubus, whose work is at turns tender and pitiless. And since I'm talking about short stories, I have to admit my abiding love for the work of Chekhov; a reader could learn everything about human nature just by reading Chekhov. Okay, that's short fiction, but how about a novelist or two: I have a weakness for the Victorians, especially Charlotte Bronte, George Eliot, and the love of my life, Anthony Trollope. I would keep going, but I'm afraid I'm losing you, dear reader.
If you stop by on the blog hop (or for any reason at all) please leave a comment so I can return your visit. Hang out, have a look around. I just posted reviews of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Passage. I'm currently reading Columbine by Dave Cullen, and will be posting a review soon. Check out my summer reading list in "Gorging on Books" to see what else I'll be reading.

I confess, I haven't read any of these authors. Two of my favourite authors would have to be Philippa Gregory and Kathy Reichs.
I stopped by from the hop and I now follow you. I look forward to reading your reviews. Stop by my blog if you can. Have a great weekend.

Hopping by...already a follower! I look forward to hearing your thoughts on Columbine.
Swinging by on the Hop. I like short stories so I may have to check out some of these authors you've mentioned. I'm getting The Passage this weekend and can't wai to read it!
Stopping by from the hop. I like your review of The Passage. I can't wait to read it.
I was curious to know who your favorite authors would be. I thought you would have difficulty :) just because you are a true lover of great literature. And again I learned new authors, thanks!!
Hopping by on the blog hop and I follow you so I have been keeping up with your posts.
Alice Munro is one of the authors I haven't read, but have on my list to try.
I still have The Passage on my TBR pile - maybe I'll get back to it this weekend and I also need to get back to The Girl Who Played with Fire.
Thanks for stopping by my blog for the Hop! I really like your post on Stieg Larsson's books.

Its awesome to see classics on your favorite authors list. Charlotte Bronte is a favorite of mine too!
I'm just stopping by on the hop and am pleased to finally spend some time reviewing your blog. I've become a member. I've purposely (is that a word?) overlooked Stieg Larsson's books not really knowing what they were. A brief exchange with a B&N employee the other day opened me to exploring him.
Thanks for dropping by my blog. I'll be a new follower. Loved your summer reading list. Wolf Hall was a fabulous book. Not everyone loves it but I really enjoyed the book. Hope you like it too.
Coming from the hop! I need to check out The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. As you mention, you see people reading these books everywhere! I'd like to see what it's all about
Visiting from the blog hop. We read Columbine by David Cullen too. I thought the research was phenomenal too!
Just stopping by to say thanks for visiting my blog. I'm a new follower as well. Have a great weekend!
