Especially writing along with your students. When I was young, I would memorize my favorite poems, so I can recite a couple Robert Frost poems, The Jaberwocky, a few lines from The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock. I love the idea of posting poetry around your house. And I love it. Thanks for the Neruda titles-love reading his poems out loud to students-then I get a Spanish speaker to read the Spanish version.bibliophiliachttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15495943887513443615noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-236334828969414641.post-48298107326213168242011-04-24T09:27:55.001-07:002011-04-24T09:27:55.001-07:00Oh, and my favorite poem would have to be a tie be...Oh, and my favorite poem would have to be a tie between "Tonight I can write the saddest lines..." and "It was at that age that poetry arrived in search of me..." both by Pablo NerudaCassandrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00362919925024094294noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-236334828969414641.post-39619928288391750012011-04-24T09:26:10.542-07:002011-04-24T09:26:10.542-07:00I think that I should write along with my students...I think that I should write along with my students more. I teach freshman comp, so I tend to stick with essays, but I have them write a response to the essays they read for each class, and I've never done that. It would be a good habit to develop. Thanks for the idea!Cassandrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00362919925024094294noreply@blogger.com
